- Math Placement for Incoming Students
FIU uses the Math Placement Score (MPS) to place students in introductory math courses. MPS is calculated based on the student's SAT/ACT score(s), high school GPA and high school math classes. Students who do not have an MPS may need to take the ALEKS placement assessment to determine which math class to take first at FIU. Learn more about MPS and ALEKS
