To increase student success in introductory math courses, FIU has implemented a mandatory math placement assessment for all entering students. The assessment is used to place a student in a class for which they have sufficient background. Learn more about the assessment

Students who are told that they need to make an appointment should emphasize that they are asking about the math department tutors, who do not require appointments.

**Biscayne Bay Campus**

For those of you living closer to the Biscayne Bay campus, there is help in AC1 160, phone 305-919-5927 (not affiliated with the Math Dept). The Math tutor lab is in AC1 389 and includes help with Calculus, MAC 2311-2312-2313.

Multicultural Programs and Services

Tutoring is available to all students through the Multicultural Programs and Services office in GC 216. You may receive free tutoring, whether you are a minority or not, but by appointment only. The phone number of the main MPAS office is 305-348-2436, or you can call the AAA Tutorial Office directly at 305-348-6425.
